Senate Appropriations – 10:00 a.m.

Senate Approp held a hearing this morning on the state of Pennsylvania’s budget in the economic crisis. Budget Secretary Mary Soderberg acknowledged revenues are down in the state, but observed Pennsylvania is weathering the storm better than a number of other states, including New York and New Jersey. Senator Vince Fumo warned about the likelihood of a $1billion+ structural deficit in the budget in 2009.
