The Senate Education Committee met today to consider the nomination of Joseph A. Dworetzsky to the Philadelphia School Reform Commission. A bankruptcy lawyer by profession, Dworestzsky also served as the City Solicitor for the City of Philadelphia from 1993 to 1996. Questions asked during the hearing ranged from issues regarding the the “imagine 2014″ plan to reform schools within the Philadelphia school district, the role of charter schools in state education, teacher contract issues, and the possibility of conflict of interest issues.
