TAXPAYERS PROTEST GOVERNMENT SPENDING
Tax-paying citizens met yesterday at the state capitol to discuss the need for tax reform in Pennsylvania. State Representative Daryl Metcalfe (R-Butler) led the discussion, saying “the government needs to reduce spending, reduce taxes, and let tax payers keep more of what they earn to really stimulate the economy.” Grover Norquist, President of Americans for Tax Reform spoke next, stressing the inefficiency of the current tax system, using the analogy of taking a bucket of water from one end of a lake, and dumping it on the far side. “And if they money doesn’t end up on another side of the lake,” Norquist said, “it will end up in the pocket of a political connection. EARLY CHILDHOOD ACTION DAY IN THE CAPITOL
It was Early Childhood Action Day today at the Capitol building. Dozens of parents and concerned citizens met to discuss the need for better funding for early childhood programs, and how they are currently performing well.
