Video Poker/Tuition Relief Act introduced, text posted

Governor outlines executive action measures to relieve "grip of a national recession"

Exercising his authoritiy to operate without legislative sanction, Governor Rendell today announced he is greenlighting a number of executive actions to provide relief to Pennsylvania citizens. The adultBasic waiting list will be slashed by as many as 16,000 people, $5 million in mortgage assistance will be directed from TANF funds, $6.6 million dollars will be committed from the DCED’s weatherization fund to home heating assistance for one additional week this winter, CareeLink hours will be extended to help provide unemployment counseling services, and a new website – www.parxpricefinder.com – has been launched to allow users to find the lowest priced prescription drugs in their area.
